Problem Solving

2 days workshop of problem solving by Training Minds Sdn Bhd at the Starfield Club House Semenyih was fantastic. A trainer was Ms Sheyma. What can I say? She has the valuable and quality experiences to motivate people. She deserved the appreciation by Myagri. Even though most of the participants were fasting, but we still managed to pay attention on the presentation.

I dare to say the program was succeed in making my head spinned around like a merry go around. Not only me I guess, majority of the participants felt and confessed the same thing. The group tasks given were good and challenging. I will never forget the games that encouraged us to use the critical thinking and left & right brain.

Honestly I think 2 days workshop actually was not suffice to make me really understood in using the methods given to solve any problems. The point here is I need to practice the info I gained in my real life either at work or home. Through regular practice, InsyaAllah I can make it. Here I would like to share general methods how to solve the problem.

1.We need to define the problem precisely; 5Ws + H (when, what, who where why, how). It is better and easier if write it down on a paper. Don’t just imagine it.

Problem: Tak puas makan steamboat di Restoran Steamboat di Pulau Duyong Terengganu pada 30.7.2011 bersama famili kerana bahan bahan steamboat dah nak habis.

2.Then we need to determine the root cause . We can use diagram or fishbone illustration to make and see it clearly.

Mungkin, 2 ladies ni over eating?

Mungkin juga trio ini?

Or mungkin juga nenek dan cucu ini? Or mungkin cameraman yang makan banyak?

3.After that we try to generate the solution by discussing with at least 2 persons so that we are not syok sendiri in generating the answer for our problem. The better is try to discuss with someone that opposite with our stand. So that we can see and think from different angles. In finding the solutions, we need to determine the duration to implement the solutions whether immediately, short or long term.

4.Then, we try to implent the chosen solution to our problem. We see and then we act.
Masak sendiri steamboat kat rumah. Ramai boleh makan..Bestnyee!!!

5.This is the crucial step; we need to learn how to evaluate the effect of the outcome. Don’t easily satisfy on what we have done if the outcome was fantastic. We need to predict the problems we might face in the future. Who knows?

6.Last but not least is try to standardize and continuous improvement. We plan, we do, we check and finally we act.

Maybe everyone has their own opinion how to solve the problem. And perhaps one of the above methods we can try.

But this one is still unresolved...Disaster downward giant apam polkadot...Oh man...
